Archive for September, 2011
This from Prudence,
Saturday, September 10th, 2011Thanks to everyone who came to my party and for dressing up in so many different black costumes. The photo shoot was a total success – if you took part in the multi-media novelties standby for an email from me showing your own personal shots. I’ll be asking your permission to use those in my book. In the mean time, here are some great party photos.
The book is BLACK Inc. One nation’s identity, a global politic. It will be released in 2012 and yes, there will be another party for its launch. It will be hard for a book launch to top last weekend’s celebration but don’t worry, we will. I hope all party guests become first customers when I’m finally a book author. (I wonder if I can assume as much when you’re already a loyal customer of our clothes?!) For a taste of my writing I submitted a short article in September’s Newtown News. That’s the free monthly in the hood and you can grab one from the counter when you shop at Duncan & Prudence.
All our party guests received a promotional t-shirt as a gift for coming, but we’ve printed a few more for sale in the store, in case friends feel they’ve missed out. We reckon they’ll make great wear for blacking out a stadium with if you’re going to a game.
An extra special thank you to Afrika Caterers for their incredible food, to brother Matt for managing security like a total professional, to Tony Spear for his organisation of the film crew, and to all his professionals who came and shot incredible footage for my documentary. Thanks also to Finn for loaning me mannequins and dressing the exhibits, and of course my fantastic staff who all had particular chores for the night, including my amazing intern Ann, who even brought her own photography assistant.
