Available now!

This from Prudence,

Saturday, September 10th, 2011

Thanks to everyone who came to my party and for dressing up in so many different black costumes. The photo shoot was a total success – if you took part in the multi-media novelties standby for an email from me showing your own personal shots. I’ll be asking your permission to use those in my book. In the mean time, here are some great party photos.

The book is BLACK Inc. One nation’s identity, a global politic. It will be released in 2012 and yes, there will be another party for its launch. It will be hard for a book launch to top last weekend’s celebration but don’t worry, we will. I hope all party guests become first customers when I’m finally a book author. (I wonder if I can assume as much when you’re already a loyal customer of our clothes?!) For a taste of my writing I submitted a short article in September’s Newtown News. That’s the free monthly in the hood and you can grab one from the counter when you shop at Duncan & Prudence.

All our party guests received a promotional t-shirt as a gift for coming, but we’ve printed a few more for sale in the store, in case friends feel they’ve missed out. We reckon they’ll make great wear for blacking out a stadium with if you’re going to a game.

An extra special thank you to Afrika Caterers for their incredible food, to brother Matt for managing security like a total professional, to Tony Spear for his organisation of the film crew, and to all his professionals who came and shot incredible footage for my documentary. Thanks also to Finn for loaning me mannequins and dressing the exhibits, and of course my fantastic staff who all had particular chores for the night, including my amazing intern Ann, who even brought her own photography assistant.

Sale through July – or until all samples are gone

Saturday, July 9th, 2011

Our Friday late night sale was a BLAST. A big Thank you to all our customers that came and turned it into a party. Duncan & Prudence took turns taking everyone out the back to see our production processes. Those who ordered screenprinted t-shirts got to come back and watch while Olivia flooded the silk screens.
Our sale carries on through July, or until all our samples have been scooped up. This morning Duncan whirled through and reduced our prices again, just to make sure it all goes.

So what is there?
Half price tees, some printed, some for you to choose your print with.
There are pants and jeans, less than half price. We’ll hem and customfit them, just as we do at our regular price.
Showerproof hooded jackets, merino dresses and tops – unbelievably good deals.
Men’s boxer shorts and Women’s hotpants, 3 for $40.

Now if you feel like you missed out and wanted to come last Friday, please get your name and email address on our visitor’s book. We treat everyone on that list like VIPs – that means we don’t pester them all the time with nasty marketing messages, but they do get first dibs when we hold a shin dig.

And we’re already underway planning our next one in October!

jean jackets

Friday, May 27th, 2011

Most kiwi guys channel James Dean without even realising it. It’s that combination of youth and working man that is so simply pulled off with just the right jacket atop the tshirt and jeans. Looking daring and irresistibly cool without trying hard.

Our James Dean jacket is made with brushed navy stretch cotton for a fit that feels perfect.

A couple of our favorite jean jackets

Men’s: ‘James Dean’  $220

Women’s: ‘Longline DJ’ $298

Dress: ‘Merino Hoody Dress’ $278
